The Regulation and Compliance team at Lake Macquarie City Council have opportunities for adaptable, professional, well‐organised individuals with a positive attitude to join the team as Parking Compliance Rangers. In this position, you will be reporting to the Senior Parking Ranger and will be responsible for the implementation of the Australian Road Rules, and section 650 of the Local Government Act 1993.
As a Ranger Parking Compliance, you'll be responsible for completing a wide range of tasks independently. We seek individuals who take initiative, demonstrate self‐motivation, and thrive in a role where every day is different. Our Parking Rangers encounter diverse situations daily, from high‐pressure scenarios to contentious interactions. We value individuals who can adapt on the fly, think on their feet, and handle a variety of challenges with composure.
We are looking for candidates who are self‐motivated, enthusiastic and customer‐focused to join our team. Our ideal candidates enjoy working in a fast‐paced outdoor role within the community and welcomes day‐to‐day challenges. With experience in conflict management and a strong focus on quality customer service, your professional and adaptable skills will see you succeed in parking enforcement within the community. You must also meet the following criteria:
* Demonstrated ability to apply quality customer service
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide audience in stressful situations
* Ability to learn and enforce the Australian Road Rules, Local Government Act 1993 and other relevant legislation
* Strong computer literacy skills relating to Microsoft Word and Excel
* Willingness to undertake any training provided by Council
* Ability to pass NSW Police criminal history check
* Current C class Drivers Licence
* Ability to use electronic infringement devices and accessories
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as autonomously
