The Position
The Sustainment Manager occupies a critical leadership role within CEA's expanding Sustainment Department. Reporting to and under the direction of the Director of Sustainment, this position is charged with the Leadership and Operational Management of the team responsible for managing the sustainment lifecycle of all CEA Technologies' products within the assigned domains – Air, Land, Sea and International. The Sustainment Manager will ensure that all aspects of product sustainment are conducted in alignment with both CEA's standards and the Commonwealth of Australia's defence objectives.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership, direction and support to a team of professionals who are responsible for the day to day management of sustainment and contract activities.
Asset Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of all relevant assets, from acquisition and operation to maintenance and disposal, ensuring maximum efficiency and value from these assets.
Financial Oversight: Manage the budget for sustainment activities, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and monitoring expenditure against planned budgets.
Performance Monitoring: Develop relevant and impactful KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the sustainment operations. Regularly track these indicators to assess performance and implement improvements.
Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports to Senior Leadership on sustainment activities, vendor management, contract compliance and team performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
Risk Management: Continuously identify potential risks in the sustainment processes and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with service contracts, ensuring all parties meet agreed upon terms and performance standards, including monitoring and reporting of KPIs and metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery and align sustainment and contract management practices with market needs and expectations.
About You
Education: Bachelor's degree in Contract Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, Post Grad study will be highly regarded.
Experience: At least 7 years of experience in sustainment, maintenance management, or operations, particularly in a leadership role within defence, industry or technology sectors.
Technical Skills: Profound knowledge of advanced maintenance management systems and sustainment methodologies.
Leadership and Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, with a strong focus on team building, strategic planning and resource management, including uplift.
Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of budgeting, financial and contract management in a technical environment.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively articulating complex ideas and engaging diverse audiences, including internal and external stakeholders.
Certifications: Certifications in project management, asset management, contract management or related fields will be highly regarded.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance - NV1. The successful candidate MUST be able to obtain clearance prior to commencement.
