We are currently looking for a capable Data Engineer to work with our growing technology team. The role involves supporting the business in the area of data and technology.
Responsibilities
* Supporting both business and technology stakeholders by working with them to understand the problems faced and how to utilise data and insights to solve them as well as facilitate data-driven decision making.
* Demonstrate strong programming skills in Python, designing, conducting analysis and writing SQL queries to extract data from multiple various sources of data.
* Assist with day-to-day data tasks such as data wrangling, data ingestion and data visualisation from multiple business functions.
* Design and implement ETL pipelines using orchestration platforms.
* Oversee and maintain the data warehouse infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and efficient housekeeping operations.
* Contribute technically to the organisation's strategic Artificial Intelligence (AI) and product delivery roadmaps through data project implementations.
* Ensure relevant technical documentations are developed well, up-to-date and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
* Minimum experience of 3 years in the area of Data Engineering.
Required Skills
* Proficiency with data modelling and transformation tools such as DBT.
* Demonstrate strong programming skills in Python, designing, conducting analysis and writing SQL queries to extract data from multiple various sources of data.
* Design and implement ETL pipelines leveraging Dagster for data orchestration.
* Experience in cloud CRM technologies - Salesforce, Zoho and Atlassian Suite (JIRA and Confluence).
* Hands-on experience designing and implementing data solutions on Snowflake.
* Experience building agentic AI systems that leverage data warehouse insights to drive decisions or automate operations.
* Familiar with Agile project delivery methodologies.
* A result driven team member with attention to detail, a passion for data analysis, engineering and ability to work across larger & smaller initiatives.
* Excellent, effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Proactive attitude to undertake responsibilities that add value, ability to simplify practices, and drive efficiency.
* Able to manage conflicting priorities, a strong team player, punctual and an affinity for technology.
* Data engineering certifications (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS) and experience in the Australian Private Health Insurance industry will be advantageous towards the application.
