RELAY PROTECTION AND COMMUNICATIONS PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Relay Protection and Control Design Supervisor, the successful candidate will provide technical assistance to Engineering Construction Department during construction, testing and commissioning stage of various power substation and transmission projects involving relay protection system and substation control; and proactively identify special solutions and studies that innovatively solve unique and complex protection and control issues/problems. Contribute to the development and execution of Section's strategy and actively participate in the engineering design team.
* Undertakes the detailed preparation of bidding documents consisting of technical specifications, data sheets, plans and drawings, bill of materials and scope of works of relay protection system, monitoring and auxiliary system/equipment of complex power substation and transmission projects.
* Undertakes the evaluation of complex design drawings, documents, plans, and calculations submitted by contractors/manufacturers/suppliers, other NGCP functional groups such as RRA, O&M, etc. for use in the production and manufacturing of the materials/equipment.
* Prepares construction drawings such as interconnection diagram between high voltage equipment and secondary devices including the detailed cable schedule and panel arrangement layout for use during project implementation.
* Provides technical assistance to Engineering Construction Department during construction, testing and commissioning stage of various power substation and transmission projects.
* Conducts actual inspection of substation sites, coordination meetings and other complex design-related activities on various stages of the project implementation and collaborates with Supervisor in assessing technical problems on the construction and/or operation and recommends solutions to such problems.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Licensed Electrical Engineer
* 4 years of relevant experience, 1 year of which in a Senior Engineer capacity
* Has advanced knowledge and skills in the application of theories, standards, practices and concepts on power system protective relaying particularly line and substation protection system.
