This is a rare opportunity to shape how the organisation designs, governs and delivers its digital and ICT capabilities, contributing to outcomes that matter for Australian businesses, communities and the broader economy.This role offers a unique opportunity to help establish and mature enterprise architecture practices while providing solution‐level architectural leadership for major digital and ICT initiatives.Operating across both strategic planning and delivery contexts, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams and governance bodies to ensure architectural decisions are coherent at the enterprise level and executable at the solution level.Your work will directly influence how the department designs, governs and delivers its digital and ICT capabilities to support Australia's economic and technological future.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement an enterprise architecture framework, including business capability models, target state architectures and technology roadmaps.Lead or assure the development of end‐to‐end solution architecturesfor digital and ICT initiatives, from discovery through to delivery.Provide authoritative architecture adviceto support portfolio planning, investment proposals and whole‐of‐government alignment.Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements and whole‐of‐government policies.Identify architectural risks, constraints and dependencies, providing clear recommendations to inform decision‐making.Coach architects, delivery teams and stakeholders in applying architecture best practicesand contribute to continuous capability uplift.Key Experience and SkillsDemonstrated experience as an Enterprise Architect and/or Solution Architect.Experience developing enterprise architecture artefacts and solution architectures.Strong understanding of architecture principles and governance frameworks.Experience designing end‐to‐end solutions across application, data, integration, infrastructure/cloud and security domains.Deep understanding of Australian Government digital policies, architecture standards and whole‐of‐government strategies.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.How to Apply If you're ready to bring your expertise as anEnterprise / Solution Architectto a Commonwealth Government agency driving meaningful outcomes for industry and innovation across Australia, we'd love to hear from you!Apply byWednesday, 18 March 2026.
