Superordinary is a multi-arts space located in Northshore Brisbane, reclaiming urban spaces for artistic creation, collaboration, and events. Our 1700 square meter warehouse and outdoor courtyard house event spaces, galleries, markets, artist studios, and pop‐up installations. Superordinary supports artists by providing opportunities and space otherwise limited by economic barriers, fostering a creative community for innovation and collaboration. Role Description
This is a temporary, event specific on‐site role for an Event Manager at Superordinary. The Event Manager will oversee the execution of periodic events at Superordinary's space, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants. Responsibilities include liaising with artists and vendors, managing event operations, liquor licensing obligations, patron safety, supervising onsite staff, and creating strategies to enhance participant experiences. The ideal candidate will also uphold the values of Superordinary by fostering collaborative and innovative event environments.
Qualifications
* Event Planning and Coordination skills, including experience managing timelines, logistics, and operations
* Strong Communication and Collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with artists, stakeholders, and vendors
* Budget Management and Organizational skills to ensure events operate within financial and operational constraints
* Onsite Problem‐solving and Team Leadership abilities to adapt to dynamic situations and oversee event staff
* Passion for the arts, familiarity with multi-disciplinary projects, and an understanding of the cultural sector
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event‐specific hours
* Previous experience in event management or related fields is highly preferred
