About the Position
As the Trades Assistant, you'll support qualified tradespersons in maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical plant and equipment across water and wastewater stations and associated infrastructure. You'll play an important role in ensuring assets are operated and maintained safely and efficiently to support the delivery of water services to the community.
What We're Looking For
* Year 10 education or equivalent combination of experience, training, and demonstrated competence to be able to perform the duties of the position.
* Current C Class Driver Licence (manual preferred).
* White Card (CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) or equivalent, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
* Possess or be willing to obtain Confined Space Entry certification, Work Safely at Heights certification and a First Aid certificate.
* A commitment to safe and reliable work practices.
* The ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete records (timesheet, maintenance & safety documents).
* Effective communication skills when interacting with supervisors, coworkers and contractors.
* The ability to work cooperatively and respectfully in a team environment.

About the Team
The Active Assets team forms part of the Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) Branch. It is responsible for carrying out the management and maintenance of the community water supply, wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants.
These works are essential for maintaining public health, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable water management. The Active Assets team services a region from Clifton to Yarraman, Toowoomba to Cecil Plains.
Their core duties include:
* Reactive works to breakdowns at pumping stations and treatment plants.
* Planned maintenance of infrastructure at pumping stations and treatment plants.
* Scheduled renewal, repair and replacement of infrastructure.

* The base wage rate for this position is $1,151.40 gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
