* Counsellor: $76,364 – $108,943 per annum

What You'll Be Doing
The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician provides recovery focused, person-centred, and culturally competent services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, advocacy and review as part of the multidisciplinary team for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people referred to the service with a mental illness, distress and/or risk issues.
Selection Criteria
* Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established links with the local Aboriginal community.
* Tertiary qualification Bachelor Health Science (Mental Health), or appropriate registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers.
* Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, safe and connected care to consumers and their families and carers in a person-centred and holistic manner that promotes self-determination and aligns with principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and a strengths-based approach.
* Demonstrated high level communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, their families and carers and other stakeholders.
* High level computer skills including accuracy and demonstrated knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Programs, Microsoft Office Programs including Skype for Business.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs strategic directions in service provision, including those related to Aboriginal People and their communities.
* Knowledge and understanding of the legislation and policies relating to mental health care provision, including the Mental Health Act 2007.
* Current unrestricted driver's licence, ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, which may involve long distances and overnight stays.
