 
        
        Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Specialist
The Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Specialist role is a part-time, permanent position available at Uniting, working 15 hours per week over 2 days with some flexibility and work-from-home options. The role is based in Shoalhaven, NSW, near the Bay and Basin area.
The successful candidate will be part of the social impact, innovation, and advocacy directorate of Uniting, working with a specialist team focused on community-led place-based work. The role involves collaborating with three main stakeholder groups: the community around young people, the backbone teams working to strengthen their communities, and the Uniting leadership team responsible for resourcing and supporting the backbone teams.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Assess the efficacy of the Theory of Change and local MEL Frameworks, making improvement recommendations.
 * Develop and implement a MEL strategy for the Bay & Basin site in collaboration with key stakeholders.
 * Oversee the design, collection, and storage of data important to each program and community.
 * Identify important community-level data around improving outcomes for young people.
 * Socialise and translate data across community stakeholder groups.
 * Involve community and youth stakeholders in MEL processes and reporting.
 * Provide high-level advice on improving place-based evaluation processes.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
 * Tertiary qualification in social research or a related field.
 * At least 8 years' experience in higher-level MEL for complex projects.
 * Proven ability in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
 * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
 * Strong project and time management skills.
 * Experience in coaching and supporting teams in data collection and evaluation.
 * Self-motivated and able to work independently.
 * Comfortable working remotely and using online communication tools.
 * Understanding and support of community-led, place-based approaches.
 * Ability to prioritise tasks based on emerging needs.
 * Passionate about making a measurable difference in communities.
