Job Title: Child Welfare Specialist
As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will work with casework teams to promote good practice and support continuous improvement in service delivery. Your role will involve fostering the implementation of best practice casework and providing direct practice-based professional support and development to Casework Managers and Caseworkers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working alongside caseworkers directly with children, young people, and their families to model and coach best practice.
* Providing specialist advice to all levels of management and staff on case practice matters and specialized assistance in complex or sensitive cases.
* Taking on the consultant role in weekly casework team group supervision and in leadership group supervision.
* Providing one-to-one or group support to new caseworkers upon their completion of the Caseworker Development Program (CDP).
* Developing and maintaining networks and relationships to influence good practice and draw on contemporary evidence-based practice research and resources.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a Social Work, Psychology, Social Science Welfare, or related discipline.
* Demonstrated skills in putting the child at the centre of your work.
* A strong ethical approach to practice and your role as a practice leader.
* Ability to independently and in a team.
* The ability to build strong relationships with a variety of people to influence and guide good practice.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to deal with sensitive, complex issues appropriately and confidentially.
