FARM MANAGER SHEEP / HEAD STATION HAND - SHEEP & GRAZING
Kangaroo Island, South Australia — An established, professionally managed agricultural business is seeking a capable livestock operator to support the day‐to‐day running of a large‐scale sheep and mixed enterprise on Kangaroo Island. This role is flexible in level — suited to either a strong overseer/head farm hand or an experienced operator ready to step up. The focus is on practical livestock capability, reliability and the ability to contribute to a well‐run operation.
THE OPERATION
* Large‐scale sheep enterprise (Merino ewe base transitioning through a rebuild phase)
* First-cross lamb production
* Trade cattle program aligned to seasonal conditions
* Part of a 3-farm aggregation with shared resources and planning
THE ROLE
* Hands‐on involvement across daily livestock operations
* Stock work including mustering, yard work, animal health and feeding
* Assist with grazing and pasture management programs
* Operate machinery and maintain infrastructure (fencing, water, yards)
* Work closely with the Farm Manager and broader team
* Support contractors during peak periods (shearing, marking, etc.)
* Step up into higher responsibility where capability allows
ABOUT YOU
* Solid experience in sheep and grazing systems
* Confident stock handler with working dogs
* Practical, reliable and hands‐on
* Able to operate machinery and handle general farm maintenance
* Good attitude and ability to work within a team structure
* Looking for a role with stability and progression
