Located in the main street of Barwon Heads, Che Vuoi serves up authentic Italian food in traditional Italian style. Many of our dishes are designed for generations of families or groups of friends to share around the table.
We are searching for a passionate and driven individual who can support the kitchen team and assist them in the service periods and prepping of food. Someone who was born to be in the hospitality industry and wants to build on their career in the industry. Someone who strives for their absolute best in all they do.

You will need to have a level of skill commensurate with either completion of an Advanced Diploma or Diploma and at least three years of on-the-job training. Ideally the successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen. Experience with Italian cuisine is highly desirable, but not essential.

What we expect
* Demonstrate a range of cooking techniques, monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
* Lead and motivate staff in all aspects of kitchen operations and presentation.
* Managing and supporting your teams, including training and coaching.
* Stock management and control.
* Control of both wage & food costs to the allocated budget.
* Kitchen presentation and asset management.
* Lead and demonstrate respect for food safety guidelines and Work Health & Safety procedures.
* Flexible with your availability to work over a 5-day roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
* a stable working history.
* Proven experience in kitchen management systems, stocktake, costings and financial control.
* Proven experience in modern and on trend menu development with the head and sous chefs.
* Attention to detail while presenting a high standard of attractive and tasty dishes for our patrons.
* Strong communication skills with a good attitude towards front and back of house staff
* Effective time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
* Compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations including hygiene policies
Tasks may include:
* planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
* monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
* discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
* demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
* preparing and cooking food
* explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
* may select and train staff
* may freeze and preserve foods
Full-time hours: 38 per week
