Overview
What Does the Narrogin SES Do? The Narrogin State Emergency Service (SES) plays a vital role in keeping our community safe during times of natural hazards and emergencies. Our dedicated volunteers are trained and equipped to respond to a wide range of incidents, including:
* Emergency Repairs: Making temporary repairs to homes, buildings, and roofs after storms and other natural events.
* Tree Removal: Safely removing fallen trees that have caused damage to homes, cars, and property.
* Flood Assistance: Sandbagging and pumping out flood water to protect homes and businesses in danger of flooding.
* Rescue Operations: Rescuing people who are trapped or injured, and providing assistance to those in need.
* Missing Person Searches: Assisting Police in locating missing people.
In addition to these emergency responses, we provide critical support to DFES and firefighters during large fire incidents by:
* Transporting food and supplies to those on the ground.
* Refilling water bombers with water.
* Ensuring safe landing zones for helicopters and planes.
* Setting up radio communications for coordination and safety.
And much more!
But the most important part of what we do is educating our community on how to stay safe before, during, and after natural hazards like storms, floods, cyclones, and earthquakes. By sharing our knowledge, we help families and individuals protect themselves and their property, building a safer, more resilient community.
If you want to make a real difference, consider joining us as a volunteer!
