What makes this role special: Work with a reputable construction company Temporary role with genuine opportunity to extend longer-term Balanced role: 50% financial accounting, 50% management accounting Flexible working arrangements available Responsibilities As our Financial Accountant, you'll manage key financial accounting processes: Monthly Close Execution - Drive month-end activities with primary ownership of balance sheet account reconciliations and reporting accuracy Internal Business Partnering - Collaborate closely with project teams to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making Cost Allocation Management - Oversee overhead cost distribution across projects and business units, ensuring accurate profitability tracking Tax Compliance Support - Provide assistance to the Senior Financial Controller on tax-related matters and compliance activities Year-End Processes - Contribute to annual financial close procedures, audit preparation, and statutory reporting requirements Finance Transformation - Identify and implement improvements to existing finance workflows and system processes Offshore Team Coordination - Manage and coordinate work with offshore accounting resources to ensure timely completion of various accounting functions Statutory Reporting - Prepare periodic compliance reports and submissions as required by regulatory authorities General Accounting Duties - Support the finance team with additional tasks and special projects as needed Skills Needed CA/CPA qualified 3-5 years' experience in financial accounting roles Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines Strong communication skills to work with non-finance stakeholders Construction industry experience highly desirable Experience with job costing and project accounting advantageous Next Steps If you're a qualified accountant looking for a permanent opportunity in the construction industry with a competitive salary package, this could be your ideal role.
