Indian Curry Chef Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indian curry chef to join our kitchen team in Nowra, NSW.
* Plan and organize food preparation on a day-to-day basis
* Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment
* Prioritize menus and recipes for optimal efficiency
* Prepare and use specialized kitchen equipment for high-quality dishes
* Organize kitchen supplies, including groceries and dairy products
* Maintain a clean and sanitized environment throughout the kitchen
* Ensure proper storage of food and other items
* Prepare and cook various curry and tandoori menu items according to recipes
* Cook tailor-made menus for special occasions and events
* Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness
* Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff members
* Implement stock rotation, food safety protocols, and minimize waste
Requirements:
* Food Safety Supervisor certificate is essential
* A minimum Cert IV in Cookery or higher is required
* Detailed knowledge of Indian cuisine and spices is necessary
* Availability to work weekends and split shifts is mandatory
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef is preferred
* Strong communication skills are vital
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail is crucial
* Australian work rights are mandatory
