Rabobank’s Technology division has an opening in Sydney for a visionary leader to head our Data & Analytics Engineering function. Reporting to the GM, Technology, this role will be responsible for setting & executing Rabobank’s ANZ Data & Analytics Platform strategy, delivering cloud-native data solutions, & spearheading digital transformation initiatives. This role demands deep technical expertise in cloud computing (Azure), AI/ML, & data engineering, combined with strategic leadership, financial acumen, & a passion for innovation. In addition, this role will lead teams comprising Engineering Managers, Lead Architects, Solution Architects, Design Leads & Engineers, fostering a collaborative & innovative environment.
Top Role Accountabilities:
1. Lead & manage the Rabobank ANZ Data & Analytics Platform (DAP), ensuring long-term sustainability, scalability, & financial viability
2. Develop & operationalise AI/ML-driven analytics capabilities & integrate GenAI solutions to drive innovation & customer value
3. Architect & oversee Azure-based cloud data platforms, enabling real-time & batch data processing at scale
4. Establish metadata-driven, reusable frameworks for ingestion, transformation, streaming, & egress pipelines
5. Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align data strategy with organisational goals & customer needs
6. Ensure data governance, risk management, & regulatory compliance across the enterprise
7. Lead & mentor high-performance engineering teams across Cloud Infrastructure, DevSecOps, MLOps, & DataOps disciplines
To be successful you will have:
1. 15+ years of experience in Advanced Data, Analytics, & Digital Transformation, across complex, data-rich industries such as Banking, Telecommunications, Insurance, or e-Commerce
2. Experience in senior line management
3. Strong background in Data Warehousing, Teradata, NoSQL databases, & big data architectures
4. Demonstrated capability in risk management, strategic planning, & financial oversight of large technology programs
5. Experience leading teams & programs across multiple global regions & diverse cultures
