Job Description
Becoming a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play an integral role in supporting the financial control function in regulatory reporting requirements.
This involves interpreting and applying regulatory reporting standards for application through a managed solution. You will perform first-line review of regulatory reporting, providing oversight of the review process of APRA forms by stakeholders.
You will also provide support to the Financial Accountant in their preparation of the regulatory reporting and be key business owner and Subject Matter Expert in the APRA 5-year project for all regulatory reporting.
In addition, you will perform regulatory annual test requirements over APS910.
Responsibilities
1. Regulatory reporting:
* Interpreting and applying regulatory reporting standards for application through a managed solution.
* Performing first-line review of regulatory reporting.
* Providing oversight of the review process of APRA forms by stakeholders.
* Providing support to the Financial Accountant in their preparation of the regulatory reporting.
* Key business owner and Subject Matter Expert in the APRA 5-year project for all regulatory reporting.
* Performing regulatory annual test requirements over APS910.
2. Statutory reporting:
* Assisting with the creation and processing of complex journals.
* Preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
* Preparation of statutory accounts.
* Providing assistance with External Audit.
* Providing review over the accounts payable and Treasury Middle Office disbursement process.
3. Controls, process Improvement & Governance:
* Maintaining strong controls around Statutory and Regulatory reporting processes.
* Identifying opportunities to optimise and streamline reporting processes.
* Contributing to risk and control frameworks for the finance function, including risk & control assessments and control remediation.
