As Chief Radiographer, you will lead and coordinate the operations of our Medical Imaging Department, empowering a skilled and committed team to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality imaging services to patients across the South Western Sydney Local Health District. This is a senior leadership role where your clinical expertise and people‑focused approach will directly influence patient outcomes and service excellence.

You will shape and drive transformative strategies that enhance the experience of our patients, consumers, staff, and community partners. With accountability for responsible financial management, you will develop strong financial strategies, allocate resources effectively, and ensure the Imaging Service operates efficiently and sustainably within approved budget parameters.

Are You the Right Fit?
You are a strategic and forward‑thinking health service leader with demonstrated experience managing complex clinical operations, ideally within Medical Imaging or a comparable diagnostic or acute healthcare environment. You bring a proven ability to balance operational performance with long‑term service planning and improvement.

You offer a strong blend of leadership capability, strategic insight, and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to influence multidisciplinary teams and drive meaningful change. Confident, collaborative, and commercially astute, you are motivated to lead a high‑performing imaging service that continues to meet the evolving needs of our growing community.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

* Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent qualification accredited by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) as rendering the holder eligible for membership, registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); and possess a licence to operate irradiating apparatus under the NSW Radiation Control Act (NSW EPA Radiation Licence).
* Postgraduate management qualifications and/or equivalent management experience in a complex health environment.
* Demonstrated experience in human resource management, including recruitment, payroll and performance appraisal.
* Experience in the management and maintenance of clinical protocols, policies and safe work practices.
* Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills, including goal achievement, workload prioritization, and problem solving.
* Demonstrated experience including complaints management, equipment procurement and financial control.
* Knowledge of and commitment to clinical safety, quality improvement and accreditation systems.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
