About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a delivery focused Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new payroll system. This is a high visibility role, offering the opportunity to contribute to a major business transformation with significant operational impact.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex technology projects, particularly within HR and payroll environments, and will bring strong stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and risk mitigation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the full project lifecycle of a payroll system implementation
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and reporting
* Coordinate cross-functional teams across HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors
* Ensure all project milestones are delivered on time, within scope and budget
* Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure successful outcomes
* Oversee system testing, data migration, user training, and change management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering large-scale payroll or HRIS implementations
* Strong understanding of payroll processes, systems, and compliance requirements in Australia
* Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors and systems integrators
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills
* Experience working within complex, matrixed environments
* Familiarity with platforms such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, Dayforce, ADP, Chris21, or similar is highly desirable
