Here at Airside Equipment Specialists (AES) we are leading the way in airside ground equipment and servicing. Operating from Tasmania, Australia, we specialise in an array of different services including the supply of supporting products (such as signage and safety add on's) for our client's equipment, new and used equipment, and airside maintenance repairs.
AES are currently looking for an experiencedMechanic – Diesel & Small Engine for an ongoing full-time role offering 38 hours per week for the successful candidate based at our workshop in Launceston.
Your tasks will include the following:
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and small engines in ground handling equipment, vehicles, and machinery
* Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and inspections according to scheduled maintenance programs
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, fuel, hydraulic, and electrical systems on diesel and small engine equipment
* Perform engine overhauls, component replacements, and system adjustments as required
* Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and service schedules
* Work collaboratively within a high-functioning team to meet business deadlines and production targets
* Travel to client sites to perform onsite repairs and maintenance as needed
* Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained
To be successful in this role you will need:
* A certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Automotive, or equivalent mechanical trade qualification
* A minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified mechanic working with diesel and small engines
* Must be able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card – ASIC
* A Current Police check
* Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
* High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Proven track record of working safely in accordance with WHS regulations
* Ability to work cooperatively as an effective team member
* Current Australian driver's licence (manual transmission desirable)
* Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in varied conditions
