The role of Project Officer, Tourism is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the tourism industry.
About the Role:
The Project Officer will work across the Tourism, Events, and Entities branch, which sits within the Sport and Experience Economy group. The position will involve collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in accordance with the Special Measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the delivery of initiatives to strengthen the tourism industry and enhance high-quality visitor experiences across Victoria.
• Coordinate reporting and evaluation across the team, including on projects, programs, industry engagement activities, and ad-hoc requests.
• Provide daily administrative support across the team, including drafting advice, briefings, correspondence, project documentation, and managing budgets.
• Support the delivery of grant programs and grant agreements, including milestone processing, reporting, resolution of issues, systems management, and drafting documentation.
• Establish and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure effective delivery of projects.
• Implement best practice project management techniques to ensure projects are delivered on time and to agreed scope and objectives.
What You'll Need:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
• Knowledge of Government Processes: Governance standards, policies, and programs, including knowledge of key issues confronting the tourism sector and/or First Peoples businesses in Victoria.
• Project Administration: Ability to produce detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified.
• Clear Communication: Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including developing reports, PowerPoint presentations, and diagrams that are concise and engaging.
• Stakeholder Management and Engagement: Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, effectively managing correspondence, reporting, and meetings.
• Teamwork: Cooperate and work well with others in the pursuit of team goals.
