We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety and Risk Superintendent to drive and enhance our workplace safety and health performance.
The Role Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health, Safety and Risk Superintendent will play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining our Health and Safety Management system. This leadership role ensures the well‑being of our workforce through proactive occupational health monitoring, health and well‑being initiatives and effective injury management processes.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System in line with Victory Minerals' standards and regulatory requirements
Oversee occupational health monitoring programs. Maintain health monitoring records, identify and coordinate risk mitigation and produce area specific reports as required
Drive health and wellbeing and programs initiatives that promote a safe and resilient workforce
Ensure all major mine hazards are identified, documented, and assessed using the ICAM methodology. Implement appropriate mitigating actions for all identified risks
Coordinate and administer the Fitness for Work Program
Manage and coordinate injury management processes, including return-to-work programs
Facilitate regular audits, inspections, and safety reviews to ensure operational integrity and safety performance
Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to operational teams to foster a strong safety culture
Liaise with regulatory bodies, medical providers, and internal stakeholders as required
The Person As the successful candidate, ideally you will have:
Significant experience working in an underground operating environment
Advanced Diploma of WHS (or higher)
ICAM Lead Investigator Certification
Lead Auditor Qualifications
Qualification in Collection of Specimens for Drug & Alcohol Testing
Experience in the delivery of equipment operations and health & safety training within the mining industry
Experience managing workplace injuries and return to work programs
The ability to lead and influence others
Proven ability to review and refine systems and processes with a focus on continuous improvement
Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy
