Job Summary
This is a senior hospitality management role responsible for the overall operation of a licensed bar within a busy regional club environment. The position reports to senior management and plays a key role in ensuring high standards of service, compliance, staff management, and patron care.
Responsibilities
The Bar Manager is responsible for organising and controlling all aspects of bar operations, including planning drink menus and wine lists, managing stock purchasing and pricing, supervising and training bar staff, and overseeing daily service delivery. The role also involves planning and coordinating functions and events, managing budgets and financial transactions, and maintaining accurate stock and operational records. A key component of the position is ensuring compliance with all relevant liquor licensing, health, and safety regulations. The Bar Manager must ensure responsible service of alcohol practices are followed at all times, that staff are appropriately trained, and that the bar operates in a manner that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of patrons and employees. Due to the regional location and the senior nature of the role, the position requires a high level of autonomy, reliability, and leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong people management skills, the ability to manage busy service periods, and experience working in licensed venues with extended trading hours, including evenings and weekends. This is a full‐time position based in Broome, Western Australia.
* Demonstrated experience managing a licensed bar or similar hospitality venue
* Experience in staff selection, training, supervision, and performance management
* Strong knowledge of liquor licensing laws and responsible service obligations
* Experience in stock control, supplier negotiation, and budget management
* Ability to plan and deliver functions and special events
* Strong customer service, communication, and organisational skills
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in hospitality and/or three years of work experience in similar roles required
Benefits
Full‐time position offering $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience
