Job Title: Digital Curation Specialist
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Digital Curation Specialist to provide expert advice and guidance on the long-term management and curation of digital collections, including research data.
Your key responsibilities will include developing guidelines, procedures, and training to ensure that digital content is managed, described, and formatted for long-term access by future researchers, students, and scholars.
About You
* You have previous experience working with digital collections, digitization projects, and/or digital preservation.
* You possess expertise and understanding of library, archival, or preservation repository systems, services, and requirements, including metadata, standards, workflows, resource description, rights, and permissions.
* You work collaboratively as a project manager with strong initiative and attention to detail.
* You support the ongoing development of high-quality client-focused digital curation services.
* You provide specialist technical advice on digital preservation to the University community.
* You contribute actively to team and Library culture and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop guidelines and procedures for digital content management, description, and formatting.
2. Create training programs to ensure staff understand digital curation best practices.
3. Provide specialist technical advice on digital preservation to the University community.
4. Support the development of high-quality digital curation services.
5. Collaborate with teams to achieve common goals.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in digital curation, digitization, or digital preservation.
* Expertise in library, archival, or preservation repository systems, services, and requirements.
* Strong project management skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Degree in relevant field (e.g., librarianship, information science, computer science).
