Aged care support workers play a vital role in enabling older members of our community to live independently at home for longer. As an Aged Care Support Worker with KinCare, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by providing person-centred care and support.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing domestic assistance such as cleaning and laundry to ensure clients' homes are safe and comfortable
* Assisting clients with meal preparation and shopping to promote healthy eating and independence
* Offering social support and transportation to lifestyle activities to combat loneliness and isolation
* Providing personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and medication management, once trained, to enhance clients' dignity and autonomy
* Providing respite and emotional support to both clients and their families to alleviate stress and anxiety
* Social support and transportation to appointments to facilitate access to healthcare and other essential services
* Providing complex care for clients with high care needs, such as dementia, to ensure their safety and well-being
We are seeking experienced aged care workers who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* At least 3 months' experience working in a similar aged care or support worker role
* A current P2 class or above Australian Driver's License and a registered vehicle
* The ability to provide personal care services, once trained
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and think critically
* Flexible availability to work varying shifts, including weekdays
