Location and Overview
Pakenham Secondary College is a Year 7‐12 school located in Pakenham, Victoria, within Cardinia Shire. The college serves approximately 910 students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and supports a wide range of learning pathways, including core, electives, VET, VCE and school‐based apprenticeships.
Responsibilities
* Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
* Plan, prepare and deliver curriculum that meets learning outcomes.
* Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas.
* Provide expert advice on content, processes and strategies that shape professional learning.
* Supervise and train student teachers.
* Assist staff in using student data to inform teaching approaches.
* Participate in staff meetings, parent/teacher meetings, camps, excursions and other school activities.
* Perform other classroom teaching‐related or organisational duties as directed by the Principal.
Qualifications and Registration
Applicants must hold provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching. If completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching programme on or after 1 January 2024, completion must be evidenced by accreditation from an Australian State or Territory Teacher Regulatory Authority. Victorian ITE graduates after 1 July 2016 must have passed the LANTITE requirements.
Selection Criteria
* SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills, and experience responding to student learning needs.
* SC2: Experience planning and implementing high‐impact teaching strategies, guided by evidence of student learning and evaluating impact on student growth.
* SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and providing feedback to students and parents.
* SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
* SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.

* Assist in induction for new teachers and other professional learning.
Who May Apply
Teachers registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, and qualified to teach in specified curriculum areas.
