Privately owned clinic situated in the heart of Sunbury with friendly and supportive team of general practitioners is seeking part time receptionist to commence as soon as possible. This position requires an experienced enthusiastic, positive and motivated person committed to delivering exceptional customer service and patient care. As a team member it is essential to provide support to the general practitioners and allied health teams. Previous experience in a general practice is essential as well as knowledge of Medicare billings. Must be able to work varying shifts including mornings, afternoons and weekends. Casual position but with routine shifts. Experience with the medical software Best practice is desirable. Great renumeration available based on experience. Must be an Australian resident with excellent communication skills.

Medical Receptionist

Responsibilities and Requirements

* Opening and closing the clinic.
* Welcome and assist patients with enquiries and appointments.
* Answer and respond to telephone enquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
* Accurately process patient payments via cash, Eftpos, and direct bill transaction.
* Knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures.
* Ability to liaise with referring doctors, specialists, pharmacists and allied health organizations.
* Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy including the clean up of spills if necessary.
* Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with appropriate scanning, faxing and filing of all documents.
* At all times maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
* Complete recalls.
* Liaise with GPs, and other health professionals.
* Support the day to day operations of the medical centre.
* Exceptional customer service and teamworkskills.
* High level of computer literacy and IT knowledge.
* Experience using Best Practice is desirable.
