Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over **** students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and over 400 staff across campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Keilor East, sports grounds at Keilor Park and an Outdoor Education camp at Eildon.

The School provides a diamond education, with a co-educational Kindergarten programme, single-sex education at the Junior Schools and Middle Schools from Years 7 to 10 and co-education at the Larkin Centre (Years 11 to 12).
The Role
We seek an experienced Laboratory Technician to provide specialist technical support for staff and students and to assist in the efficient operation of the Middle School Boys Science laboratory and science classrooms.
This includes providing practical support in the laboratory and classrooms as needed.
This is a full-time fixed-term 6-week replacement position commencing from 27 January to 6 March ****.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
The Laboratory Technician will demonstrate the following criteria:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and experience in an educational setting
High level professional knowledge and skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with staff and students
A high level of knowledge and commitment to OHS, demonstrating an understanding of all relevant safety standards, including the safe handling, labelling and storage of chemicals, and safe handling of materials and equipment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative and supportive team member.
Excellent organisational and planning skills and ability to manage varying demands
Commitment to professional learning and continuous improvement
A commitment to child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children with diverse needs and backgrounds
