The Managed Equipment Service & Medical Assets Category Manager plays an essential role in ensuring hospitals across South Western Sydney Local Health District have access to safe, reliable and fit-to-purpose medical equipment. This role will lead the strategic procurement of medical assets and managed equipment services, ensuring that key areas within the District are well stocked and supplied.

* Guide end-to-end procurement activities for high-valuye medical assets, from planning and sourcing through to contract management and supplier performance, with direct impact on patient care and clinical outcomes.
* Work as part of a specialist procurement and medical assets team, partnering closely with clinicians, executives, HealthShare NSW, and Health Infrastructure to support statewide and whole of government contracts.
* Develop and implement procurement and contract management frameworks that strengthen governance, manage risk, and deliver value for money across complex medical technology portfolios.
* Influence future investment and replacement strategies, providing expert advice and evidence based recommendations that shape how medical equipment supports care delivery now and into the future.

SWSLHD is looking for a candidate that brings exceptional attention to detail and confidence to their work, whilst also having the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders using effective consultation and dialogue. The ideal candidate would have the ability to balance clinical, medical and technical considerations as they maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the board and contribute to high-quality procurement outcomes.

* Demonstrates strong attention to detail when leading the procurement and contract management of high value medical assets within a public health environment.
* Practices active listening and collaborative engagement, enabling effective consultation with clinicians, executives, suppliers, and statewide partners.
* Is confident leading procurement discussions for complex medical equipment, balancing clinical needs, technical requirements, and commercial outcomes.
* Applies sound judgement and ethical decision making, ensuring probity, transparency, and accountability throughout procurement processes.
* Thrives in complex, fast paced healthcare settings, managing competing priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

* Tertiary qualification in medical imaging, supply chain or procurement and/or equivalent working experience and knowledge of NSW Procurement Policy. Professional Procurement qualification (e.g. MCIPS or above) is desirable.
* Extensive procurement experience operating in a complex, fast paced, changing environment with sound understanding of tendering, contract development, supplier management and procurement metrics reporting.
* Strong knowledge of medical imaging assets and application of managed equipment service contracts.
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, coordinate, negotiate, influence and liaise effectively with people at all levels of the organization and relevant suppliers to effect positive procurement outcomes.
* Ability to analyse and solve complex challenges and problems.
* Ability to influence stakeholders in procurement processes and equipment rationalization.
* Ability to develop relationships and understand capacity and technical service detail.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
