Cyber Security Specialist – NV1 RequiredWork for leading Telco company, theyre looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to support cyber governance, risk, and compliance, while working across multiple technologies and government frameworks. This role offers hands-on experience with Fortinet systems, incident response, and security uplift initiatives. this is a 6 month contract with a high chance of extension
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop security documentation, processes, and work instructions from scratch.
* Support cyber incident response and assist with IR exercises.
* Conduct vulnerability scanning/assessment using Tenable.
* Contribute to backup & recovery processes and develop BCP/DRP documentation.
* Assist with SIEM integration.
* Work with Fortinet systems, including PAM integration, wireless network assessments, and network operations.
* Advise internal teams, project groups, and agencies on governance, risk, and compliance.
* Conduct risk assessments and control gap analyses across Fortinet systems and related processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Active NV1 clearance
* Knowledge of Australian Government frameworks: PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight
* Experience with Fortinet systems
* Familiarity with incident response, Tenable vulnerability scanning/assessment, backup & recovery, BCP/DRP, SIEM integration
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in GRC, including security documentation, risk assessment, and control testing
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Ability to run or support Incident Response exercises
* Experience with Fortinet PAM integration
* Fortinet wireless network assessments
* General network operations experience
