About the role
Reporting to the Head of Site Operations Planning, the Head of Detailed Scheduling provides strategic and operational leadership over daily and weekly production planning. You will lead a team of schedulers and work cross‐functionally to deliver feasible production plans aligned to site capabilities, global demand and customer requirements.
This role is pivotal in bridging short‐term execution with medium‐term planning, influencing supply decisions, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement in scheduling performance.
This is a parental leave contract until the end of June 2027.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and oversee site‐wide daily and weekly production scheduling to ensure OTIF delivery
* Develop, publish and maintain feasible production plans aligned to capacity, capability and demand
* Lead scheduling inputs into the monthly planning cycle, S&OP and Global IBP processes
* Own site scheduling KPIs, including schedule adherence, and drive improvement plans in collaboration with value streams
* Act as a key site contact for network supply issue management and inventory challenges (e.g. short‐term shortages, shelf‐life risks)
* Lead cross‐functional issue resolution and prioritisation across Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain
* Prepare and maintain scheduling scenarios to support business decisions impacting the site operational plan
* Ensure inventory policies and targets are met to avoid stock‐outs and write‐offs
* Oversee and optimise scheduling processes to improve efficiency and reduce cycle time
* Lead, coach and develop a high‐performing scheduling team, fostering a strong performance and continuous improvement culture
* Ensure all activities comply with GMP, quality, data integrity and health & safety requirements
About you
You are a confident supply chain leader with strong planning expertise and the ability to influence across complex manufacturing environments. You thrive in fast‐paced, regulated settings and bring a balance of strategic thinking and operational execution.
Skills & experience
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant business or scientific discipline
* Postgraduate or professional qualifications (MBA, CSCP, CPIM, CIPS) highly regarded
* Strong experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
* Solid understanding of S&OP, inventory management and production planning principles
* Strong SAP experience and advanced system literacy
* Demonstrated people leadership experience, with a focus on capability building and performance
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‐solving skills
* High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
