As a Fugal Operator at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will be working as part of our sugar production team, where you'll transform raw ingredients into raw sugar while having a blast! You'll work alongside great colleagues, tackle exciting challenges, and enjoy a lively atmosphere filled with teamwork.
Initially located at Victoria Mill, Ingham offers a laid-back lifestyle, with stunning island beaches and exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. Whether you're into fishing and boating, hiking, or just chilling by the beach, the Herbert Region has it all waiting for you.
This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season (June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (Jan - May).
Your Role in Action
Sweet Systems: Produce Raw Sugar and C seed/magma that consistently satisfies quality and technical standards with minimal disruption to operations and product loss.Collaboration Crew: Work in conjunction and communicate effectively with the Mill management, Pan Boilers and Shift Team.Data Detective: Sample, inspect and perform basic analysis on sugar and molasses streams.Housekeeping Hero: Maintain excellent housekeeping practices around fugal station to ensure a safe work environment.Efficiency Enforcer: Perform regular inspection of plant, equipment and complete maintenance request as required.Accuracy in Action: Complete logbooks, charts and any other data collection required by management.
Your Winning Combination
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (including familiarity communicating via UHF) and demonstrable ability to work alongside a range of different people. Basic mechanical skills will be highly regarded.
While the following qualifications are requirements in this role, training will be considered for people who possess the right aptitude and team fit:
Sugar processing experienceWorking at HeightsConfined SpaceMaintenance skills which are also highly desirable include; Trade qualifications, Rigger, Dogger and Scaffolder High Risk Work Licences
