Mining Superintendent Role

Key Responsibilities:
* Drive safety behaviors to achieve zero harm, by being accountable and focusing on safety as a front-line function.
* Work closely with technical services for continuous improvement and to execute mine plans.
* Manage team performance, development, and behavior to meet targets.
* Ensure the operation is adequately resourced for maximized equipment utilization.
* Identify any non-conformances to KPIs resulting from repeat contributing factors and liaise with required stakeholders to develop and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Manage mining operational costs in line with budgets and contribute to the development of the departmental budget.
* Participate in contract review meetings and ensure contractors comply with the contract as well as MMG standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A proven history with safe work practices, with the ability to identify and address unsafe practices and lead by example.
* Experience with hard rock mining methods and broad experience of mine planning, ventilation, drill and blast, geology, and geotechnical practices.
* 8+ years in mining/production roles, with 3+ years in a superintendent position.
* Strong prioritization and communication skills.
* Mining engineering degree (desirable).
* Underground supervisor's certificate of competency, or WA first-class mine manager's certificate (desirable), with a strong knowledge of mining regulations.
* Ability to operate the business with a strong focus on cost management.
* Capacity to lead through ambiguity, build team alignment, and deliver results under pressure.
* Experience using SAP (desirable) and standard software programs for communicating messages within the business.
* Valid driver's license.
