Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates the manufacturing activities of the organization, including physical and human resources.
Responsible for developing production strategies, managing budgets, overseeing acquisition and installation of equipment, and ensuring compliance with WHSE standards.
Leads production teams to achieve efficiency, quality, and cost objectives while aligning operations with organizational goals.
The primary purpose of the position is to support the production team in planning, developing, and coordinating production activities within the manufacturing processes.
Agency services will not be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor production and Lean strategies and planning to ensure operational efficiency.
Ensure production activities, focusing on output quality, quantity, cost control, timelines, and workforce requirements.
Oversee the operation of manufacturing equipment and quality assurance processes, including maintenance scheduling, operating hours, and supply of parts and tools.
Track output and costs, making adjustments to processes and resources to optimise performance and minimize expenses.
Communicate production updates and issues to relevant managers and stakeholders.
Manage the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Act as the champion for Agility software, as well as monitor records and present reports.
Manage compliance with WHSE initiatives and standards across all reporting team members and activities.
Direct and supervise staff, providing guidance and monitoring performance to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience in a Production Manager role, or similar.
Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams and achieving organisational goals.
Demonstrated experience in continuous or Lean initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing, preferable in polyethylene products.
Demonstrated experience in managing planning, scheduling and estimating software.
Knowledge of QA and NCR processes.
