MacKellar is seeking an experienced Maintenance Leading Hand to join our team on site near Nyngan, NSW.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter who enjoys leading from the front while remaining on the tools. You’ll play a key role in supporting the reliability and performance of a fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment in a safety-driven site environment.
Working a 14/7 rotating day/night roster, this DIDO position includes camp accommodation and meals while on site.

The Role
As the Diesel Fitter Leading Hand, you’ll support the maintenance team while helping ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading and supporting maintenance activities across the site fleet
* Carrying out planned, breakdown and preventative maintenance
* Inspecting equipment and identifying faults or defects
* Raising work orders and maintaining accurate maintenance records
* Ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
* Promoting a strong safety-first culture across the crew
About You
* Trade qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic
* Experience in a Leading Hand role or acting leadership position
* Previous experience working on Caterpillar earthmoving equipment
* Knowledge of CAT SIS and ET systems
* Current Driver’s Licence
* Strong communication skills and safety focus
