Process Control Engineer
This Darling Downs coal-fired power station is one of four supercritical power stations in Australia. With complete ownership of the adjacent coal mine, this dedicated team delivers a highly efficient power source into the QLD-NSW interconnector.
The Appointment:
We are seeking an experienced Process Control Engineer to join the engineering team and take over from our long-standing team member, who is heading to retirement.
As the Process Control Engineer, you will be responsible for the regular tuning, adjustments, and monitoring of machinery at the power station. You will collaborate closely with the Control System Engineer, to ensure seamless operation and problem-solving for our plant's control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Regularly tune and adjust machine operations using the control system.
* Monitor the performance of the plant's boilers, with a focus on sustaining current efficiency.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, including the engineering team, boiler engineer, turbine engineer, operations department, and subcontractors.
* Train the operations team on any changes to operation and related procedures.
* Plan and execute maintenance during plant outages and downtime to resolve issues proactively.
The Appointee:
* Proven experience with boilers in an industrial setting.
* Technical skills in ABB Harmony software.
* Enjoys fixing things and problem-solving.
* We are open to engineers from a variety of backgrounds: electrical, control system, metallurgical, process, etc.
