THE ROLE
Reporting to the Group CFO and based at our Global HQ in Brisbane, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader who is ready to step into a truly global role.
With operations across Australia, New Zealand and the United States, and a growing presence in the US market, this role offers the chance to shape the financial performance and governance of a fast scaling international fashion retailer.
As our Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial integrity of six legal entities, lead a high performing global finance team and partner closely with our senior executive team.
You will play a major role in budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis, statutory compliance and the optimisation of our systems and processes, including IT and ERP.
You will lead a team of 5 direct reports and liaise closely with our US team daily.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management and Reporting: Lead the finance team and oversee end to end financial accounting across all entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, inventory accounting and cash management.
Manage efficient month end and year end processes and ensure accurate consolidated financial reporting for the Group.
Commercial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts and contribute to the monthly Board Pack.
Deliver insights into business performance including store profitability, stock performance and margin analysis.
Provide additional commercial support and reporting as needed by the CFO.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the CFO in preparing the annual budget and ongoing forecasts.
Drive meaningful financial analysis and work closely with operational teams to ensure performance reporting is clear, cohesive and aligned with commercial priorities.
Oversee cash flow, working capital, inventory levels and capital expenditure.
Payroll Leadership: Oversee payroll across Australia and the United States, ensuring systems are accurate, compliant and well managed.
Review and approve payroll reports, maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and partner with HR on employment alignment, roster compliance and benefits administration.
Statutory Reporting and Compliance: Manage statutory reporting obligations, external audits and compliance with AASB and US GAAP requirements.
Oversee tax lodgements, payments and corporate governance requirements across all jurisdictions.
Maintain strong relationships with auditors, advisors, banks and insurers.
Compliance and Governance: Lead the audit process across Australia and the US and ensure all reconciliations and financial information are complete, accurate and delivered on time.
Implement audit recommendations and maintain a strong compliance framework across the Group.
Leadership and Collaboration: Develop and mentor a global finance team of 5, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability and commercial thinking.
Support non-financial stakeholders by turning complex financial concepts into simple and actionable insights.
Act as a trusted partner to leaders across the business.
Systems and Process Improvement: Maintain strong internal controls and risk management practices.
Oversee IT operations, cybersecurity, ERP and POS systems.
Lead system enhancement projects and work closely with technology partners to ensure our systems evolve alongside the business.
Continuously refine and improve financial processes.
Cross Functional Support: Provide ad hoc financial guidance and support across inventory, marketing, retail, wholesale, customer service, HR and the executive team whenever needed.
ABOUT YOU
Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader with at least five years in a similar role.
Experience managing multi entity and multi country operations is highly regarded.
Qualifications: CA or CPA qualified.
Commercial Expertise: Strong understanding of retail, e-commerce, inventory management and financial systems across multiple geographies.
Experience with global tax compliance, transfer pricing, currency management and consolidations is desirable.
Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in ERP and BI platforms, with experience in retail POS or inventory systems beneficial.
System implementation experience will be an advantage.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, inspire and develop a high performing team.
Comfortable working across different time zones and cultures.
Attributes: Globally minded, commercially driven and capable of balancing strategy with hands on execution.
High levels of integrity and attention to detail.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Communication: A strong communicator who can build trust and clarity across regions and explain financial concepts in a simple and commercial way.
This role is based at our FRANKIE4 Global HQ, with in-office presence required.
