About the role
Mater Corporate Affairs is looking for a Coordinator, Events to join the team for 12 months.
Based at our Newstead offices, this role reports to the Events Manager.
Salary
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+ access to many staff benefits
What you'll be doing
You will coordinate and manage all aspects of events, from initial planning and execution to post-event evaluation, ensuring all key objectives are achieved.
Support all aspects of event delivery to ensure an exceptional attendee experience by collaborating closely with clients and key stakeholders.
Manage events within a set budget, ensuring timelines are adhered to and agreed KPIs are achieved.
Coordinate external event suppliers and contractors to seamlessly deliver events of all types, from small catered functions to large-scale mass participation events.
Build and nurture strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery, identify opportunities for inclusion in sponsorship proposals, and execute the delivery of sponsor benefits where required.
Ensure seamless communication and coordination with internal teams and external vendors to achieve flawless execution while maintaining the highest standards.
Plan, execute, and manage events independently when required.
Effectively develop, present, and implement solutions to challenges and problems that arise during the planning stages and on event days with the approval of the Manager – Events and Engagement.
Evaluate the success of each event and deliver recommendations for continuous improvement.
Support new initiatives and strive for continuous improvement and effectiveness of events, share knowledge, and collaborate with other members of the Corporate Affairs and Growth Team.
Maintain and promote a flexible and positive approach to change.
Support the Events Manager to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
Develop and implement identified measures to minimise identified risks, ensuring smooth event execution under the guidance and direction of the Manager – Events and Engagement.
About you
You will have a minimum of three years' event coordination experience, with community events experience and tertiary qualification in event management, marketing, communications, or a related strategic discipline, and/or relevant experience.
You will also meet the below criteria:
Experienced in fast-paced, high-pressure event delivery environments, with the ability to hit the ground running.
Thrives in high-volume settings, effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven experience planning and delivering all aspects of event operations and logistics and coordinating event staff, volunteers, suppliers, and contractors.
High-level written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Demonstrate excellent decision-making skills and ability to remain composed and professional in stressful situations or when problems arise.
Knowledge of contemporary and evolving event management trends, including digital event platforms.
High level time management and exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects while successfully managing competing priorities.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
