About the Role We are seeking a Network Engineer to join the Capacity Engineering team at a global SaaS business on a 12-month contract basis. This is a critical position, supporting the ongoing maintenance, development, and enhancement of global network infrastructure. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of networks, while actively contributing to proactive issue resolution, capacity planning, and change management initiatives. You will partner closely with engineering peers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain and deploy modern network solutions aligned to business and technical requirements. Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot complex networks to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Lead the diagnosis, mitigation, and resolution of network incidents and outage-causing events. Engage in proactive network analysis for capacity and availability planning. Manage and execute network changes, upgrades, and device maintenance activities. Support software and firmware deployments across network devices. Partner with global teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service outcomes. Document issues and actions through internal ticketing systems. Skills and Experience Required Essential: Hands-on experience with internet and datacenter networks. Advanced experience with routing, switching, firewall management, and load balancing. Strong administration skills across firewall technologies: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortigate. Proven experience with load balancer technologies: F5 BigIP, NGINX, NetScaler. Hands-on public cloud networking experience (AWS, GCP, Azure). Solid understanding of RedHat/CentOS Linux environments. Familiarity with virtualization and container management: Kubernetes, OpenStack, KVM. Proficiency in network scripting and automation (Bash/Python desirable). Deep technical knowledge of networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, IPSEC, SNMP, ECMP. Practical experience with TCP/IP troubleshooting and packet analysis using tools like Wireshark. Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and JunOS platforms. Desirable: Exposure to High Performance Computing environments (GPGPU, Infiniband, RoCEv2). Experience in CI/CD frameworks and DevOps pipelines (Bitbucket, GitHub). Strong focus on automation, resilience engineering, and proactive network health monitoring.
