**Commissioner: Salary $311,530 plus conveyance allowance of $17,955 plus**
**superannuation and leave loading**
Appointment as a Commissioner is for a period of 7 years Commissioners exercise the jurisdiction of the Court to determine certain of its cases, either by conciliation or hearing on the merits (either by themselves or with another Commissioner), as the Chief Judge may arrange. They may also be called upon to assist a Judge of the Court when the Judge is exercising the jurisdiction of the Court.
Appointees must have relevant qualifications under section 12 of the Land and Environment Court Act 1979, particularly with special knowledge and expertise in the areas of town and country planning, architecture, urban design, heritage and law relating to these disciplines.
Appointees must comply with, for the duration of any appointment, the pecuniary interest and conflict of interest provisions in sections 12(2B) and 14(1) of the Land and Environment Court Act 1979.
