Working with us
- For 1 year you will receive an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,500, and for the 3rd year (and every year after that) you will receive AUD$7,000.
In your downtime, we provide 2 return airfares per year (including spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city with recreation leave; we offer 5 weeks per annum with a 17.5% loading/bonus.
- Base salary ranges between $107,960 and $115,604 per annum (Midwife Grade 6 (Band 1)).
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

About the role
Mount Isa Hospital Maternity Service includes a Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model as an option for midwifery care. MGP offers pregnant women individualised, woman-centred care with a named and known midwife who provides care from early pregnancy, throughout labour and up to six weeks after birth.
The Clinical Midwife - Caseload role provides expert clinical knowledge and care for women and babies with varied health needs, supports a safe environment through role modelling and application of evidence-based, woman- and baby-focused care, education, leadership, and portfolio management.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements: relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licence as a Registered Midwife.
- A postgraduate qualification or currently enrolled in a postgraduate program is highly desirable.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
