Job Description
As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering industrial control and communication systems for electrical protection in power stations.
Collaborating with talented professionals, you'll work closely with clients to assess and implement emerging energy generation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Apply your technical expertise across thermal and renewable power generation projects, including gas turbines (OCGT/CCGT), coal-fired and hydro power stations.
* Support the design and delivery of control and instrumentation systems (PLC, DCS), functional safety systems (AS 61511), and EEHA-compliant designs.
* Contribute to the development of control and protection system communications using industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, OPC) and IEC 61850 networks.
* Collaborate with electrical engineers on secondary systems such as protection and excitation systems.
* Perform electrical engineering analysis and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and relevant legislation.
* Review and verify engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
* Provide expert input across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with our quality systems and client expectations.
* Support project planning, cost and schedule management, and risk mitigation.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team.
* Maintain professional networks and support client engagement and satisfaction.
* Comply with all role-specific SHEQ obligations.
Requirements
We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, Chartered status (CPEng) and registration (RPEQ, RPEV), or working towards.
Proven experience in thermal and renewable power generation projects is essential, as is a proven track record in delivering complex projects within consultancy environments.
A strong understanding of safety in design, risk management, and QA/OH&S systems is also required.
Skilled in technical reporting, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring, you'll be an active member of industry associations and committed to continuous improvement.
Ability to manage scope across multiple projects and deliver best client outcomes is a must.
