We have available a position for a suitably qualified and experienced Grounds/Maintenance person for a part-time position, ideally commencing 31st January 2026. The position will be between hours per week, depending on the candidate skill set.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Working With Children Clearance
* Must have, or be prepared to undertake, Responding to Abuse and Neglect Training (RAN)
* Evidence of training and prior experience in similar work
* Gardening and/or landscaping and maintenance experience
* Sound knowledge of safe work practices and WHS requirements.
* The successful candidate will need to apply for a Police check.
Duties
The Grounds person will ensure the provision of efficient and effective grounds and facilities maintenance service, including observing all WHS requirements.
* Lawn maintenance and preparation, management and development of garden beds, general garden tidying including removal of all garden rubbish such as dead tree limbs etc
* General painting, clean and tidy exterior of building, general repairs and maintenance
* Management of all site rubbish, including weekly council collections, larger rubbish, e-waste and emptying of shredders
* Assist with cleaning tasks such as window cleaning, mini bus washing
* General handyperson duties, including assembling furniture items, moving furniture, fixing taps
* Assist with school events and activities including set up and break down, within school furniture movements, pick up of items from suppliers
* Testing and tagging of electrical items to schedule
* Schedule and supervise third party providers of services such as pest control, fire safety, arborist
* Ensure building, and grounds security is maintained to an appropriate standard, by regular inspections, including all play equipment and surfaces
* Maintaining the key register
* Ensure the long term maintenance and presentation of the school by working with the Business Manager to develop short and long term maintenance schedules
* Ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of all tools and machinery
* Other related duties, within the capabilities of the Grounds/Maintenance Person, as directed by the Principal or delegate.
Candidates with specific trade skills may have those skills included in a contract and taken into account in setting remuneration.
