Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) is a busy inner city sexual health service providing a free and confidential service to priority populations including testing, treatment and ongoing management of sexually transmitted infections, HIV and viral hepatitis SSHC has a large multidisciplinary team committed to the delivery of high quality patient centred care.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant 3 has responsibility for providing advanced clinical service delivery, planning, management and consultancy. The role provides clinical leadership and education to nurses, oversees research and quality improvement activities and ensures a culture of safety and governance is embedded in clinical practice and service delivery at SSHC. SSHC is one of the SESLHD sexual health and BBV services, and as such this position may collaborate with these services when required
Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 3 means: a registered nurse appointed as such to a position approved by the public hospital or public health organisation, who has at least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition the employee must have approved post graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service. An employer may also require a higher qualification in the specialist nursing field where such qualification is considered essential for the performance of the individual position.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

7. Proven clinical expertise in complex client-centered consultancy with the ability to work independently.
