About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant who thrives on collaboration, curiosity, and enabling great decision-making. In this role, you'll take ownership of core financial processes including general ledger management, journal preparation, monthly trial balance reviews, variance analysis, and intercompany reconciliations. You'll also prepare monthly group reporting packages and ensure our financial insights are accurate, timely, and trusted across the organisation.
A key part of your success will come from the relationships you build. You'll partner closely with Shared Services to deliver meaningful financial support. With a continuous improvement mindset, you'll champion better processes, and enhanced ways of working.
This role requires strong organisational skills to be able to work under pressure, prioritise conflicting objectives and deliver key milestones. With a wide-ranging scope of responsibilities and stakeholders, this role will provide you with significant development and future career opportunities.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
* Lead financial accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of the general ledger, timely completion of reconciliations, and adherence to month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing timetables.
* Partner with Shared Services teams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll) to ensure accurate transaction processing, resolve issues promptly, and drive continuous process improvements.
* Prepare and review financial reporting, including cash flow forecasts, management reports, workers compensation reporting, statutory accounts, and documentation for internal and external audits.
* Prepare and review compliance activities, including SOX controls, GST, income tax, FBT, Payroll tax on contractors and small business payment reporting in collaboration with the Financial Controller.
* Manage key administrative and governance processes, such as corporate card and expense management.
About you
* Minimum of bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
* Post tertiary professional qualification (either CPA or CA).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
* Strong communication skills, comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders at all levels.
* Advance excel skills and experience with Oracle or SAP.
* Navigated ASX listed or global multinational businesses.
* You have sound knowledge of AASB/IFRS, reconciliations, and GST/BAS and FBT fundamentals.
* Self-starter able to challenge existing processes and look for innovative solutions.
* Effective time management and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
* Must be eligible to work in Australia (Australian Citizen or appropriate Visa holder).
This role is offered under a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 2-3 days expected in our head office based in Brisbane.
