Fire Support Specialist
The Fire Support Specialist is a vital team member responsible for responding to emergency incidents and contributing to community safety and emergency preparedness.
* Attend 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours, ensuring effective deployment in emergency situations.
* Participate in regular drill and training sessions to maintain and enhance skills, meeting the required attendance standards.
* Obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment at your own expense, enabling safe operation of specialist equipment.
* Pursue ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care, to stay up-to-date with best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond promptly and effectively to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
* Develop and implement community education activities to promote fire safety and emergency preparedness, leveraging local networks and partnerships.
* Maintain competencies through participation in regular drills, training courses, and other relevant development opportunities.
* Meet attendance standards for emergency incidents and training sessions, ensuring seamless integration with the team.
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively, adhering to industry standards and guidelines.
