* Monday to Friday residential role or 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth (10-hour days + overtime available)
* $45-$60 per hour + Super (dependent on experience)
* Full-time, permanent position with immediate start

About the Role

This role is based in Kalgoorlie and offers either a residential Monday to Friday roster or FIFO from Perth on a 2:1 basis. As a Leading Hand, you will play a key role in establishing and leading the powder coating, blasting, and painting function within the workshop. You will be responsible for both hands‐on work and overseeing daily workshop activities.

What You Will Be Doing

You will lead the setup and development of the powder coating function while remaining hands‐on across blasting and painting activities. Your day‐to‐day duties will include preparing surfaces, applying coatings to a high standard, and working closely with fabrication teams to ensure all components are finished correctly. You will supervise workshop operations, maintain quality control, and ensure all work complies with safety and operational standards. In addition, you will assist with quoting, estimating, job costing, and use computer systems for tracking workflow and reporting, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the division.

What You Will Need

* Proven experience in at least two of the following: powder coating, painter blasting, fabrication
* Strong understanding of surface preparation and coating application standards
* Experience working within an engineering, fabrication, or industrial workshop
* Demonstrated commitment to high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
* Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices
* Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes
* Basic computer skills (job tracking, reporting, quoting)
* Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience (desirable)
* Experience across all three disciplines (powder coating, blasting, fabrication) (desirable)
* Experience with quoting, estimating, or job costing (desirable)
