The Opportunity
We are seeking a Survey Manager to oversee surveying operations across civil, construction, and infrastructure projects. You will lead project delivery, ensure accurate data collection, prepare plans, and provide site set‑out guidance. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
As a Survey Manager at ST Spatial, you'll work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams while mentoring junior surveyors and field assistants.
Key Responsibilities
Surveying & Project Delivery
* Conduct engineering, construction, and topographic surveys including earthworks, civil concrete, feature and contour, as‑constructed, and building surveys
* Support infrastructure and pipeline projects by calculating alignments and performing ground surveys
* Assist civil construction projects with road designs, machine control, volumes, and area calculations
* Revise designs to adapt to evolving site conditions and ensure compliance with Main Roads WA specifications
Data Management & Plan Preparation
* Record and process accurate field data using modern surveying equipment
* Prepare digital models, plans, and reports using AutoCAD, Liscad, and other relevant software
* Ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
Client Liaison & Team Leadership
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery
* Communicate survey findings clearly and provide guidance to junior surveyors and field assistants
* Identify and resolve discrepancies between survey data and construction plans
Skills & Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Surveying
* 2+ years of experience in a similar role
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
* Remote pilot licence (desirable)
* Experience with 3D laser scanning (desirable)
* Knowledge of Water Corporation Design Standards – DS80 (desirable)
