About the Role
Due to continued growth, our Melbourne Corporate Tax team is looking for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager with a strong focus on Tax Effect Accounting (TEA). This technically engaging role suits a tax professional who enjoys solving complex problems, managing risk, and delivering high‐quality advisory outcomes for a diverse client base.
You will work closely with Partners and senior leaders, play a key role in reviewing and advising on complex tax matters, and help develop the next generation of tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Review income tax returns, tax provisions and tax consulting work.
* Identify and address tax risks, including interpreting and applying relevant independence rules.
* Draft management letters in conjunction with Partners, delivering practical and commercially sound advice.
* Support clients through transactions, restructures and ongoing advisory needs.
* Coach and mentor junior team members, developing future leaders within the team.
* Deliver internal technical training and contribute to the development of new products and services.
* Assist with business development activities and strengthen long‐term client relationships.
* At Senior Manager level, take greater responsibility for client portfolio ownership, team leadership, and growth of the Corporate Tax practice.
About You
You are a technically strong tax professional with deep TEA experience who thrives in a professional services environment.
You will ideally bring:
* At least 5 years' experience in TEA‐focused tax compliance and advisory roles within a professional services firm or relevant industry environment.
* Strong knowledge of TEA compliance requirements (SME tax knowledge is an advantage, but not essential).
* Experience reviewing work and providing technical guidance to junior team members.
* Strong client engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A proactive mindset with an interest in quality, risk management and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance with an Accounting major.
* CA or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
* Double degree in Business / Commerce / Finance / Law.
* Master of Taxation.
