A leading provider of critical communication solutions across defence, emergency services, and industrial sectors is expanding its service team in Melbourne, VIC. We are looking for a Field Service Technician to provide on-site support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for advanced wireless communication equipment.
In this role, you'll work hands-on with high-tech communication devices, ensuring they are installed, maintained, and operating at peak performance. You'll collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians, supporting a range of clients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, and maintain wireless communication systems on-site
* Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues
* Conduct system testing, calibration, and commissioning to ensure optimal operation
* Liaise directly with clients to provide support, training, and technical guidance
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation
* Follow safety procedures and maintain a tidy, organised work environment
Requirements:
* Previous experience in field service, technical support, or electronics installation
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on-site
* Comfortable using hand and power tools, and following technical manuals
* Ability to read technical and wiring diagrams
Desirable but not mandatory:
* Background in wireless communications, RF, or electronics
* Experience in defence, emergency services, or industrial sectors
* Relevant trade, technical, or electronics certification
* Ability to travel regionally as required
